Finally Home

Both Crop Addict and Serendipity Scrapbooks have been featuring hand-stitching on layouts. The link for Serendipity will take you to a tutorial. Here is Jen Matott's tutorial for Crop Addict. Debbie (CA) even included it for a challenge...no prizes, just to help jumpstart us. This is the layout I did for it. I made it using Crop Addict's February kit...which includes some Fancy Pants paper that I used for this. I also used the sketch for our monthly manufacturer challenge. This month is Scenic Route. I didn't have any Scenic Route paper so I can't enter the contest this month but I love the sketch and used it here. It was a fun page to make but very time-consuming!! Check out my gallery for the supply list...TFL!!

Frugal Friday

Nancy on Serendipity Scrapbooks has declared Friday's Frugal Friday! We will post tips on how to save money on scrapbooking supplies or just whatever. My first tip is to invest in an ATG gun. Yep, cost a lot upfront--I paid $36 for mine--but so much cheaper in the long run. I bought mine from www.framingsupplies.com. You have to buy your own adhesive refill at the same time or you'll get a gun with no glue. These are the refills I buy. It's the Gold tape shown under the ATG gun (you'll need to scroll down a little bit). And the best thing about it is, the more refills you buy at a time, the cheaper they are!! And you have 36 yards of adhesive to play with!! This is really a good deal if you go through a lot of adhesive. This stuff also sticks like crazy so you don't have to worry about your projects falling apart. So for this next month or two, calculate how much your adhesive costs you per month and then compare the price to the ATG gun. Keep in mind the size of the refills and the cost and how much you use. Nope...I'm not a salesperson or representative of 3M or Framing Supplies. I just know what I like. I have gone through a BUNCH of adhesive trying to find one that works. I hope this helps you out in your quest for the perfect adhesive!!
