Buds

I did this layout last night. I've joined up with the Calendar Girls on twopeasinabucket and we are supposed to create 4 layouts a month based on the Designing with 2007 (or whatever year) calendar. I started mid-month so this is my first layout. December will be a better month! This layout is based on November 6. The "assignment" was to use masking tape to make a background. It was a stress reliever tearing up all that masking tape! Smile

Supplies: (from Crop Addict November Kit): patterned paper (Basic Grey Mellow collection); cardstock letters (Basic Grey) (from my own stash): cardstock (unknown); paint (Making Memories); ink (Ranger); brads (Stampin' Up!); ribbon (May Arts--this actually came from a previous Crop Addict kit); vellum quote (www.cen.quik.com/scrappy1); journaling pen (EK Success); staples; masking tape

Crop Addict Creative Team

I got a call Friday before last from Debbie. I had made the Creative Team for Crop Addict. It's a little different from the Design Team, and I'm not sure exactly what I'll be doing yet. I heard I made it and that's as far as my concentration could go. It had been a pretty bad day up until then too so my concentration was off anyway. But I'm really excited about it and can't wait to get started!! I was really hard not to say anything until the announcement was made. I'm so glad the wait is over!! And I can't wait to work with the rest of the girls. They are a great bunch over there and I'm glad that we are (and are becoming) friends! If you ever get a chance, hop on over and chat with us awhile. Hello

Look what I just found! A scrapbooking smiley...how cute is that!!! Scrapbooking

Crop Addict December Kit

I've uploaded my projects for December's kit the other day so now I can post them here! I still have a lot of kit left over. I've got another project in mind to do and then some more layouts I want to do so I can get everything used. If you like kits, don't miss out on this one!! You can see all the supply list in my gallery on Crop Addict.
Sorry, the pictures are all wonky again...this happens everytime I upload a bunch and I have no idea how to fix it.

New Toy!!

I got another new toy the other day! Brannon came home with a Cuttlebug for me Monday at lunch. Of course, we had had a HUGE fight (the only "real" fight that we've had the whole time we've been married...5 1/2 years). We both think flowers are a waste of money since they die so quickly and we'd both rather have something that will last. So I got a make-up Cuttlebug instead!! Woohoooo!! I had showed him one the other day so he could get an idea for Christmas and he was actually paying attention to me. I told him that he didn't have to buy me anything but I'm not about to take it back! He took my back to Hobby Lobby that night and let me get 6 embossing folders. Who knew that embossing could be sooo much fun?? I can use all my old Sizzix dies and my Quickutz dies too.

I hope to have some projects on here soon! I'm preparing for a workshop that I have on Saturday, plus trying to finish up my layouts and projects for the Crop Addict December kit. I have to wait to post them in Crop Addict's gallery (November 21) before I can post them here. I've got some tutorials I'm wanting to put on here too but just haven't had a chance to work on them. December is going to be slow as far as workshops go so I'm hoping to have time to put a lot of projects on here then.

In case, I don't get a chance to post on here for awhile...Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!!!

Do Not Disturb

I did this layout last night of one of our cats, Emmitt (named after Emmitt Smith, of course!). The background is one sheet of patterned cardstock from Luxe Designs. The middle where the pictures are is just a black strip. The paper didn't need anything added to it so I just left it alone. I adhered the photos down and put a piece of Heidi Swapp tape along the seam in the middle. I ironed on some HS iron-on fuzzy letters for my title. That was a trip!! Not sure if I really liked that...ended up scorching one letter and a little bit of the paper. I need lots of practice for that one! I left a space between not and disturb and put a HS pink ghost flower with one of her chipboard letters for the flower center. The big flower is attached with glue dots and a puffy flower center was placed in the center (both HS also). The journaling spots are also Heidi Swapp. I chalked the fuzzy letters to try to hide the scorching with Pebbles shimmer chalk. The paper and the "e" both came from Crop Addict kits but I can't remember which ones.

I have a couple more layouts. You can view them here. Enjoy!

Dishonest people

I know that every once in awhile everyone tells a little white lie. That's not what this post is about. This is about the really dishonest people. Yesterday, Brannon and I drove over 2 hours to go to a scrapbook store that carried a certain product I wanted and wasn't available here. This place was listed as a store on the manufacturer website. So, off we went! We end up pulling into a residential sub-division and the address was that of a home! I was soooo disappointed. We finally found a couple of other stores and I told the owner of the 2nd one what happened. Apparently, this lady is notorious for doing this kind of thing, even going so far as to take pictures of other stores to show as her own. The manufacturer of the product I wanted doesn't allow anyone but retailers to order from them, so she lied to be able to be listed on their website. According to the other store, I'm not the first one to have driven hours just to find a house instead. She's been turned in before (and was again yesterday!) and has even been kicked off other manufacturer web sites before...guess it doesn't matter to her. She'll just keep doing it until she gets everything she wants. I think it's sad for the honest business owners who are doing what they are supposed to and then they have someone around that cheats like that. Anyway, this has really been on my mind and wanted to share. Moral of the story...call before you jump in the car to go to a new store; you never know what you'll really find!

Funny Face

This is a layout that I did today. I'm feeling a little lazy now so if you want to see the supply list you can find it at www.cropaddict.com. Just go to the Gallery link at the top, then scroll down to Members Gallery, and choose my gallery...I'm croppycatter on there, too. You can also see the last couple of layouts that I did too. Two of them were for a challenge and one of them is for a contest I submitted to Simple Scrapbooks. While you're over there, you ought to sign up for the message board. We have a great time!! Oh, and most of the supplies for this layout came from Crop Addict's September kit. Hope to see you over there sometime!!

Digital Scrapbooking

I've been playing with this a little and I am a hybrid scrapper. I finally found a book to help! It's called Digital & Hybrid Scrapbooking & Card-Making with Photoshop Elements. If digital scrapbooking is something you are interested in, I would definitely recommend this book. You can find the link to it all the way at the bottom of this page. I've been using Photoshop Elements for a couple of years now and have already learned a lot of simple tricks that I never knew existed. You also get a DVD with digital kits and coupons and a whole bunch of tags to use in your Photoshop Organizer. The best part about the whole thing is that it is written in English, none of that techno-blabber you find in most books like this. I can't ever see myself giving up my paper scrapbooking (love the mess too much!) but I love being able to combine both. So if you are interested, be sure to check it out. Just click on the link at the bottom of my blog and then hit the tab for the Book at the top of her web site. Right now she has it on sale, too!

Let it Snow Card

I had some play time this morning and was messing around with my new Punch Pals set. I really didn't know what to do with it so I just sat down and grabbed a piece of Bordering Blue out of my scraps file drawer. I stamped the snowman using Basic Black and colored him with Prismacolors and blended with a Prismacolor blender pencil. The top corners were punched with the tag corner punch and the hole with the Crop-a-Dile (since the boys decided to punch poop with my Fiskars hand-held punches!...the replacements are coming in today). The snowflake eyelet is from We R Memory Keepers. It is part of the Crop-a-Dile kit I bought from HSN back at the beginning of last year. I stamped the snowflakes on the background with Whisper White and then dotted 2-way glue on the snow and the center of the flakes and poured Dazzling Diamonds glitter on it and brushed away the excess. I used the 3/16" corner rounder to make the scallop strip. The rest of my supplies are blue gingham ribbon and dimensionals, both from Stampin' Up!. In fact, all of my supplies are from Stampin' Up! except the eyelet and the Prismacolors.
